the creative mind behind The Singing Sparrow.
Artist. This was the title that I had wanted for myself my whole life. Whether writing, photography, design, painting, or drawing, I love creating. Today, I get to call myself an artist and more. I am a graphic designer, web designer, art teacher, and yes, artist.
I graduated in 2008 with a degree in Graphic Design. After working for a few years in the creative department of a local newspaper, I quit my cubicle job and launched my freelance business. Since then, I have had the opportunity to work with clients in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors. It has been my privilege to serve many local businesses, clubs, and community organizations in my area.
I have a passion for the local community. I have served on the board of our local public art studio since its opening in 2015 and volunteer my time whenever I can for things like the Emlenton Summer Festival, our Regional Redevelopment Initiative, River Roots Community Farm, and my local church.
Proximity is not where I stop, though. Since 2015, I’ve worked with translators worldwide for a non-profit based in Dallas, TX. My role there recently expanded to include the design of their children’s resources.
That brings me to one more title. Mom. Most, if not all, of what I do is for my two children. It’s my most hard-earned title. And the most rewarding. They are the reason I am passionate about our community and seeing it built up.
I love the outdoors. On the weekend, my husband, our kids, the dog, and I will most likely be found outside. We kayak, canoe, hike, and camp, oftentimes all in one trip.
I hope I’ve let you in on a little of who I am. If you need design or website work, please get in touch.
Send me an email, and let’s get started on your next design project.
